Mitch's Priorities as a School Board Member
Stop the Enrollment Exodus
Over the last two years of available complete enrollment data SDW has lost nearly four times the number of students compared to the rest of Waukesha county. This is not a birth rate issue, it is a mismanagement issue.
We need to stop blaming birth rates and start figuring out why families are leaving. Stabilizing our enrollment will stabilize our programs, academics, communities, and taxes.
Invest Wisely
Strong schools benefit everyone and the investment of tax dollars needs to have measurable return so we can properly understand where our tax dollars are going and what benefits they are providing for everyone.
Outcome Analysis
Without tangible data any decisions made are nothing more than hope. We need to develop standardized Key Performance Indicators on which we judge all decisions. Understanding how every decision affects all stakeholders is how we build a district that benefits everyone and there is no way to do that without real data to drive our actions.
Promote What Makes Waukesha Great
Highlight our programming that sets us apart. If we want to become a destination district families need to know what makes Waukesha a destination. We have the foundation and now it's time to build.
